Paul Allan Dragseth – Obit

Paul Allan Dragseth, 56, of Eldred, MN, passed away unexpectedly late Thursday evening at his home of natural causes.

Paul was born in Crookston, MN on September 29, 1965, the son of Allan and Judy (Hanson) Dragseth. He was raised on the family farm, near Eldred, and baptized and confirmed at the First English Lutheran Church in Eldred. Paul attended Crookston public schools and graduated from Central High School as a member of the Class of 1984. He played football and played left side bench in basketball for the Pirates and participated in other school activities, as well as, working with his Dad on the farm. Paul furthered his education at NDSU in Fargo, ND where he earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Ag Economics in 1988. He returned to begin farming with Allan until eventually taking over the operation. On July 6, 1996 Paul was united in marriage to his best friend, Jolynda Joan “Jodi” Janorschke with an outdoor ceremony that took place on the campus of the University of Minnesota-Crookston. Paul and Jodi lived on their farmstead since that time while raising their 2 sons, Drew and Noah.  Sadly, infant daughter, Victoria Jo, became their family’s Angel in Heaven on November 27, 2001.

Paul was a good mix of calm and agitator, he liked to tease people and he was genuinely interested in what people had to say. He loved his family and he loved his friends.

Paul was a longtime member of the Red River Valley Sugarbeet Growers’ Association, the Red River Valley Sugarbeet Museum Board, the West Polk County Farm Bureau, and Crookston’s Hot Stove Hockey Board. And an active supporter of Crookston hockey.

Paul is lovingly survived by Jodi, his  best friend for over 25 years; their sons, Drew and Noah of Eldred, MN; beloved parents: Allan and Judy Dragseth, and Mother-in-law Nancy Janorschke, all of Crookston, MN; siblings Tracy (Kevin) Stavang, Jennifer (Jim) Mullaney, and John (Rena) Dragseth. many aunts and uncles, sister-in-laws, brother-in-laws,  nieces and nephews, cousins, and friends. He now gets to be in heaven with his beautiful daughter, Victoria Jo; father-in-law, Robert “Bob” Janorschke; and his grandparents, including his special grandmas who were so important in his life, Vicki Dragseth Irwin and Josephine “Jo” Janorschke. May God richly bless the memory of Paul Allan Dragseth.

We love you and will miss you Drag!
