Pierre Andrea Uebe – OBIT

Pierre Andrea Uebe, 80, of Crookston, MN, passed away peacefully in his home on January 5, 2025 with his beloved wife and daughter by his side.  He was born on June 17, 1944 in Racine, WI, and lived a life that was quite unique.

Although his life had been remarkable, Pierre was a simple man by nature.  A family man.  The type of man that’d give you the shirt off his back when needed.  He was stern, but gentle.
Pierre moved to California where he met the love of his life, Carole Beres.  The pair quickly fell in love and married on May 6, 1973, at the church of The North Hills.  Thereafter, in 1974, the couple moved to the upper North West region of Minnesota, where he became chief of police in 1975.  He worked for many years in law enforcement and retired honorably in 1983 after being injured in the line of duty.
In 1986, Pierre and Carole opened Blue Frog Traders, which they ran together for many years at Rendezvous.  Pierre always loved getting to know and meet new people, and this storefront was a great opportunity to do that. They sat around bonfires and shared the tales from their lives, recorded music that told a story and did the soul good to hear, drinking tequila kissing the worm, and showed up for one another like any family would. His charisma and personality went on to leave a lasting impression on anyone he did business with over the years.

In 1996, Pierre, found another calling in his life.  He became the “Real” Santa Claus traveling extensively but always considered Springhill Mall in West Dundee, IL, his Santa Home.  He brought joy to many children over the years, but the real joy was brought to Pierre in doing this.  In 2005, Pierre and Carole moved to rural Crookston, and in 2008 he retired from being Santa.  For the remainder of his days, Pierre lived a quiet life. A life worth remembering, a man worth having known, and a man who will be greatly missed by everyone who knew him, especially his family who loved Pierre dearly.

Pierre is survived by his wife, Carole Uebe, of Crookston; Daughter, Andree (Uebe) Marino, of Fargo, ND; Brothers, Richard Uebe Jr. and Rudolph Uebe.  He was preceded in death by his sister, Joanne Uebe.

May God Bless the Memory of Pierre Andrea Uebe.
