The Crookston Pirate Girls and Boys Track and Field teams are competing in the Section 8A True Team track meet in Warren and the Girls finished third place out of 14 teams with West Marshall winning the division. The Pirate Boys finished 12th out of 13 teams with Ada-Borup-West winning the division.
GIRLS –
The Pirate girls team was led by Breanna Kressin with two first-place finishes in the 100 hurdles and the 300 hurdles. Kressin also finished second place in the 300 hurdles.
Hayden Winjum also finished in the top four in three events. She finished third in the 400 meters, and finished fourth place in the triple jump, and the long jump.
Ally Perreault had a great day and finished fourth place in the shot put, and the discus.
The other top-four finish for the Pirates was Kailee Magsam in the 400 meters.
BOYS
The Pirate Boys track team knew going into the meet that they weren’t going to place in the upper half because they are short on numbers this year and one of their top point-getters, Ethan Boll, was playing baseball.
The highlight of the day was the outstanding performance of Thor Harbott who won the 3200 meters (two-mile run) and finished third place in the 1600 meters (one-mile run).
Both Crookston track teams will travel back to Warren for a meet on Friday.
