PIRATE TRACK TEAMS COMPETE AT CONCORDIA INDOOR MEET

The Crookston Pirate Boys and Girls Track teams opened up the season at the Heart O’Lakes Invite at Concordia on Tuesday.  The meet wrapped up just before 11 PM. 

The Crookston Pirate Girls team finished eighth out of 15 teams and the pirate Boys team finished 12th out of 15 teams.  Perham won the girls division while edging Barnesville by 6.5 points.  Dilworth-Glyndon-Felton won the boys division narrowly beating United Clay-Becker by 1.5 points.

GIRLS – 
The Pirate Girls had a solid showing in the talent rich meet.  Cassie Solheim had a fantastic meet with a first place finish in the long jump, she was on the fourth place 4×200 relay team, and she also finished fourth in the 200 meters.  
Isabelle Smith had a fourth place finish in the 55 hurdles and Ashlyn Bailey finished fifth place in the 200 meters.

BOYS – 
The Pirate Boys were led by senior distance runner Thor Harbott.  He finished sixth place in the 1600 meters and eighth place in the 3200 meters for a solid and challenging performance in the two longest races of the meet. 
Makot Weber had a great start to the season in the pole vault as he clear eight feet and nine inches for an eighth place finish.
