The Crookston Pirate Wrestling team had too many open weights and lost to Mahnomen/Waubun 45-27 and lost to United North Central 63-12 in matches in Fertile.
CROOKSTON VS MAHNOMEN/WAUBUN –
Mahnomen/Waubun won the first four matches, three by forfeit and one by pin for a 24-0 lead. The first Crookston win came at 133 pounds when Jaron Knutson won by a pin in 1:25. Knutson started the match with a takedown and got the quick pin to get the Pirates within a 24-6 deficit.
Mahnomen/Waubun won the next four matches, two by pins, one by forfeit, and one by decision, for a 45-6 lead. Crookston won the final four matches of the dual, with Antonio Lamb winning by a forfeit at 172 pounds. Carter Coauette won at 189 pounds by a decision. Carter started the match with a takedown and gave up an escape, and took a 2-1 lead into the second period. Carter started in the down position and scored an escape before getting two more points on a takedown for a 5-1 lead. There was no scoring in the third period, and Carter won the match 5-1.
Miles Corneillie started the 215-pound match with a takedown before getting a pin in the first period. The final match of the duel was Riley Helgeson picking up a win by pin in 40 seconds, but Mahnomen/Waubun won the dual 45-27.

Carter started in the down position and scored an escape followed by a takedown before getting a pin at 2:55 to get within a 48-12 deficit.
UNC won the final three matches, one by forfeit, one by pin, and one by decision to win the duel.
