The Crookston Planning Commission will meet Tuesday night at 7:00 p.m. in the conference room at City Hall. Following the approval of the June 18 meeting minutes, the commission will consider a land use determination for 110 Lincoln.
110 Lincoln was severely damaged in a fire and not salvageable. The property owner has left the community and doesn’t anticipate a return. The damage exceeds the owner’s ability to pay, so there is a proposal from the owner to transfer ownership to the City of Crookston. The commission will be asked to recommend the acquisition, demolition, and keeping the property zoned as an R2 residential lot.
The final item is a variance request for APG Development to reduce the setback on the east side of the property from 35 feet to 10 feet, for garages. And on the west side of the property from 25 feet to 20 feet to allow porches to encroach on the setback. The property APG is proposing the variance on is for development directly south of Casey’s General Store on Broadway.
