Local organizations may now apply to receive opioid settlement funds that Polk County received as part of a landmark settlement with manufacturers of prescription opioids and major pharmaceutical distributors.
Polk County, in partnership with the Opioid Settlement Advisory Council, is now soliciting requests for funding through a formal competitive Requests for Proposals (RFP) process. “Aimed at helping individuals and communities hurt most by opioids and to prevent future harm, it’s important to approach this issue from multiple angles. We’re encouraging all community partners committed to prevention, treatment, harm reduction, and recovery efforts to apply,” said Sarah Reese, Director of Polk County Public Health.
The RFP is now open and is due on May 15, 2024; the grant application package can be found at https://www.co.polk.mn.us/546/Opioid-Settlement-Advisory-Council. Polk County Public Health will hold a drop-in virtual information session on April 22, 2024, for interested agencies and organizations.
Current category priorities have been identified; however, applicants are encouraged to propose projects that reflect their expertise, experience, and knowledge of the community. Applicants can request up to $100,000 from July 1, 2024 – June 30, 2025, to serve residents of Polk County (MN).
