POLK COUNTY COMMISSIONERS TO MEET TUESDAY

The Polk County Commissioners will meet Tuesday, March 19 at 10:00 a.m. in the Commissioners Room at the Polk County Government Center.  Their consent agenda includes approve commissioner warrants and sign audit list; approving the February 26 and March 5 minutes; approving payment to Card Member Services, St. Louis, MO in the amount of $11,644.70 for credit card purchases; approving payment to Batteries +Bulbs, Duluth for $352.81 for battery supplies for the Facilities Department.  The Board Member Forum topic will be the City of Crookston Strategic Planning Session on March 30.

The regular agenda includes a reimbursed out of state travel request for Sheriff Jim Tadman and Public Health Director Sarah Reese to an Opioid Workshop in Columbus, Ohio.  A detour agreement with the Minnesota Department of Transportation and resolution to detour Highway 2 thru Erskine onto CSAH 41, CSAH 8 and CSAH 35 during MnDOT’s reconstruction of Highway 2. A resolution to raise the speed limit to 60 mph on CSAH 9 (KT) from Red River to Highway 75, CSAH 11 from east limits of Crookston to CSAH 46, CSAH 21 from Highway 220 to the Pennington County Line, CSAH 46 from Highway 2 to CSAH 11.

Christine Anderson will provide the board with an update on the Small Business Development Center.  County Administrator Chuck Whiting will present a lease agreement for the rental of the County’s East Grand Forks office space by the Northwest Mental Health Center for approval.  The resolution will be presented to approve two sort line operators in solid waste for the Fosston station.  Whiting will also present the board with two notices from the Department of Revenue regarding the Enbridge Southern Lights Valuation appeal, and the Great Lakes Gas Valuation appeal.  A presentation on the MN Toward Zero Death efforts and how it relates to Polk County will be conducted by Lou Tasa, MnDOT District State Aid Engineer, Holly Kostrzewski, MnDOT District TZD Director and Brad Norland, MN State Patrol.
