POLK COUNTY HIGHWAY DEPARTMENT ACCEPTING REQUESTS FOR CALCIUM CHLORIDE APPLICATIONS

The Polk County Highway Department is accepting requests for application of calcium chloride for dust control in front of residences that lie along County or Township gravel roads.
The cost will be approximately $250.00 or 5 cents per square foot, whichever cost is higher. County Roads: the cost will be the responsibility of the homeowner on County roads.

Township roads: Each landowner will be responsible for paying their specific amount to their township. Polk County will bill each Township for the total cost of Calcium Chloride applied in their respective townships. Polk County requires Township approval/permission documentation prior to chloride application on township roads. The cost will be for a one-time application only. The size and cost of each application may vary. The application site must be flagged from start to finish by residents. Polk County requires all individuals requesting Calcium Chloride to complete and submit application forms.

Forms will be available at the Polk County Highway Department in Crookston or by visiting the Public Works Department page, Maintenance Section at https://www.co.polk.mn.us. Individuals may either stop at our office to receive a form or call 218-281-3952 to request forms be mailed to them. Township residents may also contact their Township Clerk for application forms. The application deadline is May 18, 2020. NO EXCEPTIONS.

Township roads will be sprayed at 16 ft and county roads will be sprayed at 20 ft.
