POLK COUNTY HISTORICAL SOCIETY PUTS TRAVELING EXHIBIT ON DISPLAY AT CROOKSTON LIBRARY

The Polk County Historical Society has moved a cabinet display the traveling exhibit “The Fur Trade in Minnesota’s Historical Northwest” to the Lake Agassiz Regional Library in Crookston.  The second and latest traveling exhibit to be displayed by the Polk County Historical Society is on display there now near the Library’s entrance and is entitled “Ox Cart Trails” and will remain there until the end of May when the next exhibit will rotate to Polk County.  This traveling exhibit was funded by a grant from the Minnesota Historical Society and is a collaborative project between Minnesota’s Historic Northwest (organization) and fifteen historical societies and cultural organizations in northwestern Minnesota, including the Polk County Historical Society, one of the co-sponsors.

The PCHS is grateful to Cliff Nelson, its Building & Grounds Director, and his volunteer crew consisting of Mike Elwood, Francis LaPlante, Fritz Metzger, and Jerry Wentzel, for their assistance with the cabinet moving project.  We are also grateful to Chris Boike, Crookston Library Director, for her cooperation and assistance in providing the space for the exhibit.
