POLK COUNTY SHERIFF JIM TADMAN ANNOUNCES HE IS RUNNING FOR RE-ELECTION

Polk County Sheriff Jim Tadman announced Tuesday, May 17 that he will be running for re-election.  His announcement is below.

I am excited to announce that I will seek a second term as the Polk County Sheriff.  It is an honor and a privilege to serve as your sheriff and I pledge to continue to provide professional and respectful law enforcement services to all who live, work, and visit Polk County.

I am grateful for the many dedicated men and women who work alongside me at the Polk County Sheriff’s Office keeping our communities, schools, and residents safe.  I am thankful for the great relationships we have with neighboring law enforcement, social service, public health, and criminal justice partners who work together for the betterment of our communities.

Essential law enforcement services have continued without interruption throughout the COVID-19 pandemic.  While COVID may not be over, I am hopeful we will resume regular activities, including increased presence in our schools and in the public though community events and programming.  I believe that a positive rapport and strong partnerships are critical in keeping Polk County a safe place to live and work.

Some of the key issues I will focus on in my next term are technology demands, the growing mental health and controlled substance crisis’ and the recruitment, retention, and training challenges of hiring public safety professionals.  Drawing on my 34 plus years of law enforcement experience, I believe I can implement new ideas and improve on many of the programs we have in Polk County.

I respectfully ask Polk County residents for their continued support and for their vote in the upcoming November election.  I look forward to serving this community for another four-year term.

Sheriff Jim Tadman
