On Tuesday, October 8, the Polk County Sheriff’s Office received numerous complaints regarding scam calls. The caller claims to be a member of the Polk County Sheriff’s Office, claims that the person called has a warrant, and asks for personal information.
As a reminder, the Polk County Sheriff’s Office doesn’t notify people of warrants or ask for payment or personal information over the phone.
The phone numbers that have called Polk County residents are 218-818-8041 and 218-318-8041. If you receive a call you believe is a scam, hang up and contact your local law enforcement.
