POLK COUNTY SHERIFF’S OFFICE RESPONDS TO A TRUCK THROUGH THE ICE

On Sunday, February 4, at approximately 3:55 p.m., the Polk County Sheriff’s Office was dispatched to Union Lake for a report of a Ford F250 that went through the ice. The two occupants of the vehicle were able to get out of the truck, and there were no reported injuries.

The vehicle went through the ice in the area known as the narrows, where there were approximately five inches of ice. The vehicle is currently still in the lake, completely submerged. Erskine Fire and Rescue, along with MN DNR, responded and assisted with marking the area where the vehicle went in.

The Polk County Sheriff’s Office warns the community of unpredictable and changing ice conditions with the recent warm weather.
