On January 1, 2020, just after 1:30 a.m., the Polk County Sheriff’s Office responded to a single-vehicle accident on County Road 113 at Highway 2 in Mentor. The vehicle had left the roadway and struck a power pole. The driver was the only occupant in the vehicle. He was transported to River View Hospital in Crookston via ambulance and was treated and released for non-life threatening injuries. The 36-year-old male was arrested for suspicion of DWI.
The Polk County Sheriff’s Office was assisted by Mentor Fire and Rescue and County EMS.
