POLK COUNTY SHERIFF’S OFFICE RESPONDS TO LOOSE CATTLE IN FOSSTON

A Polk County Deputy located a small herd (about 10 to 14) of cattle running down Highway 2, east of Fosston.  The cattle continued down the highway and into Fosston.  Local law enforcement and the Fosston Fire Department attempted to stop the cattle.  The cattle continued to run around the east side of Fosston for approximately one to two hours.  Most of the cows were caught and brought back to the owner’s property without incident.  There are still some cattle that are unaccounted for.  The Polk County Sheriff’s office is following up on the matter.  The owner of the cattle is Mike Halland.
The Polk County Sheriff’s Office is asking anyone who locates any of the cattle to call 218-281-0431.  They ask that you don’t try to approach the cattle until proper personal arrive.
