The Polk County Sheriff’s Office has received numerous calls from the public regarding a scam.
The caller says they are from the Social Security Administration and tells the person their social security number is involved in drugs and money laundering and that the number has been suspended. The caller then asks for the person’s full social security number and bank information.
Never give your social security number or bank information out over the phone.
