On Friday, October 5, at approximately 9:10 a.m., the Polk County Sheriff’s Office received a report of a couch on fire inside a residence in the City of Winger. The fire was reported to be caused by a down power line next to the residence. The down power line caused a power surge and a heated blanket ignited, causing a couch inside the residence to catch fire.
