PUBLIC INVITED TO THE LION FOUNTAIN DEDICATION ON MONDAY

The public is invited to attend the dedication of the “Norman Arneson Memorial Drinking Fountain” at 5:00 p.m. on Monday, July 16.  The Lion Fountain has been installed at Highland Park, near the Splash Park and the Lions Picnic Shelter.  Norm Arneson was a long-time principal at Washington Elementary School and a 63-year member of the Crookston Lions Club.  Members of the Arneson family will be present and participate in the dedication ceremony.

Lion Norman passed away on May 16, 2017, and his wife Loretta passed three days later.  The Arneson family designated memorials to the Crookston Lions Club.   Those memorial gifts, along with Crookston Lions fundraising and a Crookston Park & Rec grant, made the purchase of the Lion Fountain possible.  The Fountain, which is in the shape of a lion, was specially constructed by Avalon Studios of Baxter, Minnesota.
