The Red Lake County Rebels take on the West Marshall Fusion in the second round of the Section 8A West Subsection tournament, played at East Grand Forks’ Stauss Park in the Section 8A tournament at 10:00 a.m.
FIRST INNING-
West Marshall was retired in 1-2-3 fashion with three strikeouts.
Red Lake County’s Will Gieseke hit a high pop fly to third base and the ball was dropped allowing Gieseke to reach. He stole second base and after an out, came into score on a perfectly executed hit-and-run with Colin Taggart singling to left field for a 1-0 lead.
SECOND INNING-
West Marshall’s Rylan Anderson reached on an error. After an out, Sebastian Johnson reached on an error. The next two batters were retired.
Red Lake County added another run when Cain Cardinal singled, stole second base, and scored on a Gullingsrud single for a 2-0 lead.
