RED LAKE COUNTY SHERIFF’S OFFICE WEEK RECAP

The Red Lake County Sheriff’s Office had several calls this week.  The week’s calls are listed below. 

On 01/02/20, the Red Lake County Sheriff’s Office received a report about possible check fraud that occurred at the Bank in Oklee. That report is currently under investigation.

On 01/03/20, the Red Lake County Sheriff’s Office received a report of property damage at a residence in Emardville Township. The report was investigated and it was determined to be a civil matter between a landlord and tenant, not a criminal matter.

On 01/06/20, the Red Lake County Sheriff’s Office received a report from a tenant, renting a house in Wylie Township, claiming at the landlord had the electrical power to the house shut off. Red Lake County law enforcement investigated the report and worked with the landlord and tenant to mediate the situation and have the electrical power restored.

Citations for parking ordinance violations in the city of Red Lake Falls were issued on 01/04/20 and 01/07/20. These violations were for overnight parking along Main Ave.

On the afternoon of 01/08/20, the Red Lake County Sheriff’s Office received a report of illegal dumping in the city of Red Lake Falls. Red Lake County deputies investigated the report and discovered that Daniel Murphy Saunders (29) of Red Lake Falls had placed trash into a dumpster without authorization from the owner.  Saunders was cited for the misdemeanor offense of illegal dumping. He will be summoned to appear in Court in Red Lake Falls later this month.

On the evening of 01/08/20, a Red Lake County deputy conducted a traffic stop on Main Ave. in Red Lake Falls. It was discovered that the passenger of this vehicle, Amber Rae Jones (36) of Crookston, had an active warrant for her arrest. The warrant was from Norman County for failing to appear on a misdemeanor DUI charge. Jones was taken to the jail in Crookston and was turned over to Norman County authorities. The driver of the vehicle received a warning for the initial traffic violation.
