RED LAKE COUNTY SHERIFF’S OFFICE WEEKLY RECAP

The Red Lake County Sheriff’s Office had another busy week with several calls.  The week in review is below – 

On the morning of October 14, Ernest Joseph Shimpa (55) of Plummer was arrested for violating the terms of his supervised probation. He was taken to the jail in Crookston. Mr. Shimpa was released from custody on October 7.


On the afternoon of October 4, the Red Lake County Sheriff’s Office received a report of trespassing in Louisville Township. That report is still under investigation.


On the afternoon of October 4, Andrew Lloyd Robinson (24) of Arlington, MN was cited for speeding and not having proof of current motor vehicle insurance on County Road #13 west of Red Lake Falls.


On the evening of October 4, a Red Lake County deputy stopped a vehicle in the city of Brooks for a traffic violation. Further investigation during the stop led to the arrest of two passengers in that vehicle. Kyle Travis Edgar (35) of Grand Forks, ND was arrested for having an outstanding felony warrant in Polk County. Kimberly Joyce Auginash (35) of Brooks was arrested for possession of illegal controlled substances. Both individuals were taken to jail in Crookston.  Auginash was released from custody on 10/07/19 and she will be summonsed to face this gross misdemeanor charge in Court in Red Lake Falls later this month.


On October 4, Christopher Earl Freeman (20) of Warroad was cited for no proof of current motor vehicle insurance while operating a vehicle in the city of Red Lake Falls.


On the evening of October 5, the Red Lake County Sheriff’s Office received a report of a domestic disturbance at a residence in Red Lake Falls. A Red Lake County deputy responded and investigated the incident. The suspect causing the disturbance left the scene prior to the deputy’s arrival. On the morning of 10/08/19, Tarryn Ashley Austin (28) of Las Vegas, NV was located and arrested. She was taken to the jail in Crookston and booked for misdemeanor domestic assault. Ms. Austin appeared in Court in Red Lake Falls on 10/09/19, and he was released from custody on the condition she has no contact with the victim.


On the morning of October 6, the Oklee Ambulance, Thief River Falls Ambulance, Oklee Fire Department and Red Lake County law enforcement were dispatched to a two-vehicle crash on CR. #10, northeast of Oklee. A van, traveling east on 210th St., driven by Robert Wayne Howard (62) of Oklee, struck a northbound car, driven by Deidra Viola Walton (20) of Trail. Mr. Howard claimed that he did not see the car when he entered the intersection. Both vehicles were “totaled”. Mr. Howard, Ms. Walton and a passenger in Walton’s vehicle were all transported, by ambulance, to the Sanford ER in Thief River Falls to be treated for non-life-threatening injuries. Mr. Howard was cited for failure to yield.


On October 6, the Crookston Police Department arrested Wade Michael Peterson (28) of Red Lake Falls. Red Lake County held an active felony warrant for his arrest. He was booked into the jail in Crookston on the warrant. On October 7, he appeared in Court in Crookston, paid $300 cash bond and was released from custody.

On October 9, Adam Louis Fredericks (39) of Red Lake Falls was arrested for violating the terms of his supervised probation. He was taken to the jail in Crookston.

On the morning of October 9, the Red Lake County Sheriff’s Office received a report of shoplifting at the Dollar General store in Red Lake Falls. That report is still under investigation.
