The shorthanded Crookston Reds couldn’t find their offense on Saturday, as they fell to the Ada A’s 14-0 in a game played a Jim Karn Field.
Ada took an early lead in the first when Brett Fetting led off with a triple and two batters later Blake Fetting hit a two-run homerun to make it 2-0. Ada opened the fourth with three straight singles including an RBI single by Keith Hanson to make it 3-0. A fielders choice scored a second run and put runners on the corners before a single and then a double scored two more runs to make it 6-0.
Ada put the game away with three more runs in the fifth, including two on a two-RBI double by Brett Fetting to make it 9-0. Ada got another run in the sixth on a balk, and in the seventh tacked on four runs with four walks, one hit batter and a two-RBI single by Colby Stevenson to win 14-0.
Crookston falls to 10-11 on the year and is scheduled to host the Moorhead Mudcats Monday at 7:30 p.m. at Jim Karn Field.
