Rep. Jim Joy, R-Hawley, announced today that he will run for re-election for House District 04B, which covers parts of Becker County and most of Clay County outside of Moorhead. Joy was elected to his first term in 2022, flipping a Democrat-held seat for the first time in more than 20 years.
“I’m running for re-election so I can continue to be a strong voice for rural Minnesota, and fight back against the out-of-control Democrat agenda in Saint Paul,” Joy said. “Democrats have shut out the voices of rural Minnesota under single-party control. I will continue fighting for lower taxes so families can afford their groceries, gas, and mortgage payments. I will be an advocate for public safety and ensure our rural communities get the resources they need to protect the public and hold criminals accountable. I will continue pushing for Minnesotans to get a vote on the new state flag after too many of our voices were shut out of that process. I will be a voice for our Main Street businesses and fight back against the crushing mandates that are sending jobs across the border to North Dakota.”
Jim Joy is the former Mayor of Hawley, was a reserve police officer, and is a small business owner. He lives in Hawley with his wife, where they raised three children. You can learn more about Jim’s campaign at www.jimjoymn.com.
