RESIDENTS AND PETS OUT SAFELY AFTER MONDAY NIGHT FIRE ON HUNTER ST

At approximately 9:00 p.m. Monday, April 29 the Crookston Fire Department responded to 629 Hunter St for a report of smoke in the residence said Crookston Firefighter, Justin Johnson. “Call came in for 629 Hunter Ave for smoke in the residence,” said Johnson. “Upon arrival, there was smoke coming out the front door.  Everyone was out and doing okay at this point.  All the animals are out at this point and doing okay too.”

A fire was located in the basement of the home.  Johnson added the call is under investigation, but that the fire department already has a handle on what caused the fire. “At this time this is under investigation,” said Johnson.  “We have a pretty good handle on what caused it.  I don’t think at this time that we’re going to be calling the Fire Marshal. But that could be decided on later on.”
