RESIDENTS AT THE SUMMIT PLANT COVID-19 VICTORY GARDEN

COVID-19 Victory Gardens are a growing trend since the start of the pandemic. Victory Gardens also called war gardens or food gardens for defense; were a vegetable, fruit, and herb gardens planted at private residences and public parks in the United States, United Kingdom, Canada, Australia, and Germany during World War I and World War II to help prevent food shortage. The SUMMIT tenants opted to plant some beautiful flowers in the planter instead. The SUMMIT COVID-19 Victory Garden was inspired by an idea from Sister Barbara Kaufmann, a SUMMIT tenant, who is pictured planting the flowers. Gary Garcia built and donated the beautiful planter.  This Victory Garden brings beauty, hope, and inspiration during these uncertain times.
