RESIDENTS OF CROOKSTON FLOCKED TO CENTRAL PARK TUESDAY FOR 16TH ANNUAL NITE 2 UNITE

Crookston residents turned out in droves Tuesday night for the 16th annual Crookston Nite 2 Unite at Central Park.  Crookston Police Office Don Rasicot who leads the committee that organizes the annual event said it was the largest crowd, and the most prominent law enforcement presence at Nite to Unite to date.  “Incredible turnout,” said Rasicot.  “This was a banner year.  It was the largest year we’ve had for a crowd and law enforcement presence.  As you saw, they filled up our whole center area.  Our demonstrations were good.  We lost our helicopter to inclement weather, but we filled that in with a Tae Kwon Do demonstration.  And we gave away more prizes then we ever have.”

Rasicot estimated more than 2,000 people stopped by Central Park and commended everyone how well things went especially during the prize selection at the end.  “We had a great crowd,” said Rasicot.  “They were super behaved and ‘ruly.’ You know when you get 2,000 plus people in a park, and they want presents and giveaways, and they act as they did, I’m just so impressed.  They were so kind and did what we asked them to do.  This all came together with all of our vendors.  And all my committee members were just fantastic.  This would never have taken place without the committee members and the generous public.  I couldn’t be happier.  Not going to lie, I’m tired.  We started planning this in May.  It has been about a 14-hour day for me, but it’s so rewarding.  I tell you what; this is the highlight of my career doing this.”
