RIVER STILL RECEDING BUT OFFICIALS KEEPING AN EYE ON THE FORECAST

At 7:30 am today, the Red Lake River level at Crookston was 21.75 feet and is continuing to slowly recede.  The Minnesota National Guard will be suspending operations in Crookston this morning.  The Crookston Emergency Operation Center and city staff will continue to monitor river levels ad levee systems.  We all continue to be vigilant and aware of pending weather forecasts.

We are reminding residents to stay away from and off the levee systems and temporary clay/sandbag embankments.  As river levels recede, there is the potential that levees, and temporary embankment systems could be compromised which could create unforeseen public safety concerns.

For additional information and/or to report any high-waterconcerns, please call the Emergency Operation Center at 218-281-4363 or 218-281-4383.
