RIVERVIEW FOUNDATION GOLF CLASSIC BRINGS IN OVER $30,000 FOR INPATIENT UNIT

What’s better than a beautiful day on the golf course? A beautiful day on the golf course AND raising money for a great cause, that’s what! That’s exactly what June 10th proved to be for participants of the 15th Annual RiverView Foundation Golf Classic.

It is estimated that over $30,000 was raised at the event.  The funds raised were designated by the Foundation Board of Directors for the replacement of RiverView’s Inpatient Unit, an integral part of RiverView 2020, RiverView’s hospital and clinic replacement project.

The Inpatient Unit will be housed on the top floor of a newly constructed 80,000 square foot building that will face the Red Lake River on the east and Castle Park on the west. The Unit will house 18 universal patient rooms, three labor and delivery rooms, and four family suites. Every room will have a private bathroom and a large floor plan to allow caregivers adequate space to provide exceptional patient care and room to ensure family and friends are comfortable. RiverView 2020 is scheduled for completion the fall of 2020.

“The Inpatient Unit portion of the building has served our community well since the 1950s, but its age and limitations are recognized as a growing concern,’’ shared Foundation Director Kent Bruun. “The time is here for a retirement of the space and for our hospital’s renewed investment in an improved Inpatient Unit that will enhance care and better accommodate the needs of our patients, their families and our clinical care team.’’

To date, the Golf Classic has brought in over $375,000 in its 15-year history to fund priority projects at RiverView Health.

And the Winner is…

Taking the top spot in the 15th annual event was the team of USI Insurance Services. Team members include Billy Soule, Joe Lessard, Ron Amiot, Michelle Senger, and Ben Vatnsdal.

Kelly Beiswenger and Mark Kuhn won the longest putt contest; closest to the pin winners were Nichole Beauchane and Brad Heppner, and Jaclyn Martin and Matthew Rust each won a driver.

The Foundation Board would like to thank everyone who made the event possible, especially the major sponsors: Dr. Colin and Lorianne Fennell; C.L. Linfoot Co.; Glen and Marlys Finkenbinder; New Horizon Foods; Hugo’s Family Marketplace; USI Insurance Services, LLC; HGA Architects and Engineers; Lunseth Plumbing and Heating Co.; Magnet Solutions/ARS ; D-S Beverages, Inc. Consulting Radiologists, Ltd.; and Jenny Bruun.

The 2020 Golf classic will be held on Monday, June 8th. For more information on the Inpatient Unit project or any other project through the Foundation, contact Bruun at 218-281-9249 or kbruun@riverviewhealth.org.
