RIVERVIEW HEALTH FOUNDATION GOLF SCRAMBLE RAISES $26,000

The Vaaler Insurance/Minnkota Power Cooperative team won the 18th Annual RiverView Foundation Golf Classic held on June 12. Thanks to the generosity of the tournament sponsors and participants, the Foundation raised over $26,000 during the event, making the patients receiving care at RiverView Health and RiverView Recovery Center winners, as well.

Funds raised will go to the RiverView Recovery Center and RiverView’s Angel Fund. RiverView Recovery offers an extensive list of outpatient addiction services that allow patients to receive clinical care while maintaining commitments to work, family, and home. The Angel Fund was established to brighten the lives of patients who are going through difficult health issues or hardships. The “random act of kindness” fund was started in 2011 by the family of Willard and Grace Reitmeier in appreciation of the exceptional care they received over the years at RiverView Health, particularly at the end of their lives.

Major sponsors of the event were Garden Valley Telephone; Consulting Radiologists, Ltd.; Magnet Solutions; Hugo’s Family Marketplace; Glen and Marlys Finkenbinder; Lunseth Plumbing and Heating Co.; CL Linfoot Co.; USI Insurance Service; New Horizon Foods, Inc.; Minnkota Power Cooperative; Sanford Health; Gallagher Benefit Services, Inc.; and Vaaler Insurance.

The champion Vaaler Insurance/Minnkota Power team consisted of Jen Marben and Andy Vaaler from Vaaler, and Grant Gunderson (chair of RiverView’s Board of Directors), and Todd Sailer representing Minnkota.

“The Golf Classic has made a significant impact for RiverView and improved the level of care we provide,” shared Randy Schoenborn, director of the RiverView Foundation. “With community support, the Foundation has raised almost $430,000 in the Classic’s history, funding many priority patient-focused initiatives. Our patients will continue to receive the personal care they have grown to trust and appreciate in the comfortable, homelike environment they deserve thanks to the generosity of these sponsors and participants.”
