INTRODUCTION TO NEW CROOKSTON POLICE OFFICER ALEX RUDNIK

The Crookston Police Department recently hired a familiar face for their staff. Alex Rudnik, a Crookston native, officially started on May 25 as a patrolman.

BACKGROUND
Alex Rudnik grew up in Crookston and graduated from Crookston High School. Later on, he went on to his post-secondary education. “I went to the University of Minnesota Crookston and studied Natural Resource Law Enforcement,” said Rudnik. “I then went and did my skills training at Alexandria Technical College.” Before being a part of the department, Rudnik was a deputy for the Kittson County Sherriff Department for nearly four years and Marshall County for almost seven years.

WHY OFFICER RUDNIK CHOSE CROOKSTON
Growing up in Crookston wasn’t the only deciding factor in coming home. He had many reasons to take this opportunity. “The reason I came back to Crookston was to get closer to family and a little closer to my wife’s job, too,” said Rudnik. “They have a great department here, and I look forward to working with everybody in the community.”

With Rudnik being a licensed officer since 2015, he finds law enforcement occupation rewarding and feels every day is a chance to make a difference. “It all comes down to helping people,” said Rudnik. “Every day we are helping someone, whether we think so or not, or they think so or not. My main goal in my career is to continue helping people.”
