RIVERVIEW HEALTH NOW OFFERS FREE BALANCE/STRENGTH CLASSES

If you have fallen in the past or restrict your activities because you are afraid of falling, register for RiverView Health’s free series of balance classes starting in June.

“A Matter of Balance’’ is a program helping participants improve balance, flexibility, and strength. Classes will be held each Tuesday for eight weeks, June 11 – July 30, from 9-11 am, at the Golden Link Senior Center, 324 N. Main Street, Crookston.

Participants will learn to:

  • View falls as controllable
  • Set goals for increasing activity
  • Make changes to reduce fall risks at home
  • Exercise to increase strength and balance

Certified coaches Brittni Johnson, DPT, and Maddie Engelstad, MOTR/L, will lead the award-winning program.

The series is free, but class size is limited. For more information or to register, call RiverView Home Care at 281.9478.

This project is made possible, in part, under the Federal Older Americans Act through a contract with the Northwest Regional Development Commission/Dancing Sky Area Agency on Aging under an Area Plan approved by the Minnesota Board on Aging.
