Did you know RiverView Health will bring CPR and first aid classes to your business, organization, or school to prepare your team for medical emergencies?
Whether your entity is required to train its employees in CPR and first aid or you simply want peace of mind knowing your employees and customers are safe in your environment, RiverView can help.
According to RiverView Training Coordinator Wendy Oanes, RiverView has three American Heart Association (AHA) certified instructors traveling as far as 100 miles to bring lifesaving classes to communities. Private classes are available for groups of five or more. The team is available to lead several classes a day or over several days.
Various options are available, including adult, child, and infant CPR and first aid classes.
CLASSES SPECIFIC FOR YOUR GROUP
“We customize the training to their needs,” Oanes reported. “Some businesses require all ages – adult, child and infant – and some only need the adult training. We have classes that are OSHA (Occupational Safety and Health Administration) approved, which include full CPR and first aid classes. We can also customize the training to your facility, covering requirements and additional videos as your business or group requires.”
RiverView customers include large industrial businesses, schools, and small businesses.
Along with private group classes, RiverView offers a variety of ways to train groups or individuals, including
- Public CPR certification classes are held on the second Thursday of each month at RiverView’s training center in Crookston. The four-hour class fee is $55.
- Thanks to the sponsorship of the Crookston American Legion, a free Friends and Family CPR class is offered on the second Thursday of each month for anyone who wants to learn CPR but does not need certification.
- Public first aid classes are held in Crookston on the first Thursday of February, May, August, and November. The cost is $55.
- Private training is available for your employees or group (minimum of five per class) at RiverView’s training center in Crookston.
- Train the trainer: If you want one or several of your employees to become certified faculty staff to teach their fellow coworkers, RiverView instructors will train your employee(s) to become American Heart instructors.
RiverView offers these classes as part of its AHA Community Training Center. Contracted Community Training Centers, like RiverView, are the only sites permitted to offer AHA classes to the public and professionals through their affiliated instructors and programs.

To add to the abundance of CPR classes, RiverView offers healthcare professionals advanced training, whether they work for RiverView or another healthcare organization.
“We will always have classroom courses for new staff and community, as hands-on is always the best,’’ Oanes stated.
