RIVERVIEW HEALTH TO HOLD MATTER OF BALANCE CLASSES

RiverView Health’s Rehab Services will hold “A Matter of Balance” classes for anyone who has fallen in the past, has restricted activities because of falling concerns, or is worried about falls.

The free classes will teach skills in improving balance, flexibility, and strength.

A Matter of Balance is an award-winning program designed to manage falls and increase activity levels.

Certified coaches will lead two-hour sessions on Thursdays from 9-11 am, June 1-July 20, in the second-floor community room of the Summerfield Place Apartments, 423 Woodland Ave., Crookston.

In the classes, you will learn to:
-View falls as controllable
-Set goals for increasing activity
-Make changes to reduce fall risks at home
-Exercise to increase strength and balance

The classes are made possible through funding from the Dancing Sky Area Agency on Aging. For more information or to register, call the Rehab Services Department at 218-281-9463.
