Regain your confidence in everyday activities through RiverView Health’s free fall- prevention series, A Matter of Balance, beginning May 5 in Crookston. The series is for anyone who has fallen in the past or has restricted activities because of the fear of falling. Class participants will learn to:

• View falls as controllable

• Set goals for increasing activity

• Make changes to reduce fall risks at home

• Exercise to increase strength and balance

Certified coaches Brittni Johnson, DPT, and Maddie Engelstad, MOTR/L, will lead the class. Both work in RiverView’s Rehab Services and Home Care Departments and have run the program for several years with high praise, including:

• “A great class…should be required of seniors.”

• “Great class – will do it again. You have made this class very fun and special.’’

• “Entertaining and informative!”

• “Leaders were great…Hope they are back for more courses.”

If you want to improve your balance, flexibility, and strength, call RiverView Home Care at 281.9478 to register. Classes will be held every Monday (with the exception of Memorial Day, May 26) for eight weeks, May 5 to June 30, from 9-11 am, at the Golden Link Senior Center, 324 N. Main Street, Crookston.
