Red Lake Falls, Sacred Heart, and Norman County East/Ulen-Hitterdal will play a mixed triple-header today at 2:00 p.m. in East Grand Forks.
Red Lake Falls vs Sacred Heart
FIRST INNING-
Shandi Nelson got things started with a leadoff single, and then Kayla Schindler reached on an error to put runners on second and first with one away. Then Ava Seeger grounded to first for one out, and Nelson was then thrown out at the plate for a double play, ending the inning very suddenly.
Kylie Klipping did her part for RLF, striking out the side in the first.
SECOND INNING-
Jillian Pulkrabek responded for SH, retiring RLF in order on a strikeout and two groundouts.
Sacred Heart got a baserunner after Lexi Lawrence was hit by a pitch, but could not get anything else going, going down quietly at the hands of Klipping to end the frame.
THIRD INNING –
After two quick outs, RLF got a baserunner with a dropped popup by Pulkrabek. She would redeem herself, though, as she induced a soft lineout to end the inning.
Sacred Heart had their best offense of the game to this point, using patience, as back-to-back walks put two one with one away. However, both Izzy Cwikla and Pulkrabek would ground out, ending the threat with no runs across.
FOURTH INNING-
RLF got their second, and final, hit of the game to lead off the inning on a base hit by Klipping. Nothing would come of it, though, as Pulkrabek relied on her defense, and induced three straight groundouts to end the inning.
Sacred Heart was retired in order, on two strikeouts and a lineout.
FIFTH INNING-
Red Lake Falls had their best opportunity to score in the entire game in the 5th; two walks and a hit by pitch loaded the bases with two outs, with Klipping coming to the plate. However, she would pop out to end the inning.
Klipping would then return to the circle, where she would strike oout the side, bringing her K total to 10, and 4 in a row.
SIXTH INNING-
Both teams would go down in order in the sixth inning. Pulkrabek induced two popouts and groundouts, and Klipping struck out the side yet again, getting her strikeout total to 13, including 7 in a row.
SEVENTH INNING
RLF still was retired in order in the top of the 7th, on a popout, strikeout and groundout.
Sacred Heart finally got their first hit of the game in the home half of the seventh. A leadoff walk started the inning, and Megan Weiss hit the ninth pitch of her at-bat to right to get two on and no one out. After Klipping recorded her 14th strikeout, Sophia Modeen singled in Effhauser from second, winning the game for Sacred Heart 1-0.

Red Lake Falls vs NCE/UH
FIRST INNING-
Red Lake Falls’ offense got things going immediately with a leadoff walk to Shandi Nelson. Layna Shindler singled to left field and the Titan’s committed an error that allowed Nelson to score for a 1-0 lead. Kylie Klipping flew out to left field to score Shindler to give the Eagles a 2-0 lead.
Red Lake Falls’ Reese Pahlen started in the circle and had a great start to the game with a strikeout, a line out with a great diving catch by Ava Seeger in right field, and a ground out for a 1-2-3 inning.
SECOND INNING-
Red Lake Falls answered in the top of the inning with two outs. Nelson walked, a pitch hit Shindler, and Klipping singled in a run for a 3-1 lead. Ava Seeger singled to score a run, and another run scored on a passed ball, and the Eagles led 5-0.
Emmy Engen led off the bottom of the inning with a triple and scored on an Olivia Theis fly to right field to get within a 2-1 deficit.
THIRD INNING-
Red Lake Falls broke the game open in the third inning when Amelia Warne walked and advanced to second base on a wild pitch. Warne moved to third base on a ground out and scored on a sacrifice bunt by Ella Breiland. Nelson and Shindler walked and scored on a Klipping double for an 8-1 lead. Seeger walked, and Klipping scored on an error for a 9-1 lead through three innings.
RLF’s Pahlen struck out the first two batters before Makenzi Juarez singled. Pahlen got the next batter to fly out to retire the Titans’
FOURTH INNING-
Red Lake Falls’ Schafer led off the bottom of the inning with a single, moved to second base on a wild pitch, and scored on a Breiland single for a 10-1 lead.
Pahlen retired Norman County East/Ulen-Hitterdal in 1-2-3 fashion.
FIFTH INNING –
Red Lake Falls’ Shindler reached on an error, moved to third on a wild pitch, and scored on a Seeger ground out for an 11-1 lead.
NCE/UH was retired in 1-2-3 fashion and Red Lake Falls won the game 11-1 in five innings.

NCE/UH vs Sacred Heart
FIRST INNING-
The Titans were retired in order to start the game, on two groundouts and a flyout.
Audrey Anderson led off the bottom of the first inning with a single, and then after two quick outs, Bella Effhauser drove in Anderson with an RBI single, making it 1-0 Eagles. A throwing error kept the rally up, but Lexi Lawrence struck out, ending the inning with just 1 run across.
SECOND INNING-
After back-to-back walks put two on and nobody out, a throwing error by Izzy Cwikla at 3rd tied the game at 1, and put runners at second and third with nobody out. However, Eagle starter Jensen Stinar locked down, getting two groundouts and a popout to end the inning, keeping the game tied at 1.
Sacred Heart was able to add some insurance in the home half of the second; back-to-back singles by Sophia Modeen and Avery Holthaus put runners at the corners, and an RBI groundout made it 2-1. Then Izzy Cwikla made up for the error with an RBI double, making it 3-1. Jillian Pulkrabek then drove in Cwikla with a single, and the Eagles went into the 3rd inning with a 4-1 lead.
THIRD INNING –
The Titans went down in order in the 3rd, on two groundouts and a strikeout.
Sacred Heart got a one-out base hit in the 3rd from Modeen, but was unable to get any more baserunners for the rest of the inning, keeping the game at 4-1.
FOURTH INNING-
The Titans were again shut down in the 4th, retired on two popouts and a strikeout.
Sacred Heart got a two-out walk from Pulkrabek, but two groundouts and a flyout ended the inning quickly for the Eagles.
FIFTH INNING-
NCE/UH finally got their first hit of the game in the 5th, as Gretchen Bain reached base. Then with two outs and Bain on second, another throwing error scored Bain, making it 4-2. After that, Claire Brambrink doubled, cutting the lead down to 1 at 4-3. A popout would then end the inning.
Sacred Heart would once again get a two-out walk, this time from Modeen, her third time reaching base, but nothing came of it, keeping it 4-3 headed into the 6th.
SIXTH INNING-
The Titans would not keep up the momentum, going down in order in the 6th on two groundouts and a strikeout.
Sacred Heart would finally get some insurance in the home half of the 6th. After two quick outs, Cwikla would reach on a fielding error, and Pulkrabek would make the Titans pay, tripling in Cwikla to make it 5-3 Eagles. Effhauser would ground out to end the frame.
SEVENTH INNING–
After Bain grounded out, a base hit and a walk put two on with only one away. However, Pulkrabek, now in her second inning in the circle, brought out her best, striking out Makenzi Juarez and Brambrink looking to end the game, giving the Eagles a 5-3 win.
