Robert Charles Pester, known fondly to many as Bob, peacefully passed away on June 5, 2025 at the age of 76 with his family by his side. He was born on August 9th, 1948, to Charles and Etha Pester and grew up on the Pester Farm just outside of Crookston, MN. He graduated from Crookston Central High School and was later drafted into the Army where he served two years during Vietnam. He acquired a Culinary Degree from the University of MN-Crookston, but eventually returned to his roots and farmed the land with his brother Ralph and later, his nephew Mark. Bob found joy in the simple things in life, whether it be a good western movie, a game of cards with friends, or visiting the casino with his buddies. In his younger years he also enjoyed camping and sailing on his yellow catamaran. And of course, he loved good, old fashioned Rock n Roll.
Bob is survived by his loving daughter, Cara Pester; granddaughter, Amanda Alvarado both of Fargo, ND; grandson, Benjamin Pester (Sarah) of Crookston, MN, all whose presence brought him peace and comfort during his last days. He is also survived by his brothers, Ralph Pester of Crookston, MN, James Pester of Waldorf, MD; sisters, Carol (Bill) Montague of Cass Lake, MN, Pam (Bob) Cremieux of Graham, WA.
He is now reunited with his sister, Shirley Bollinger (Tom); sisters-in-law, Jan Pester, Mary Pester, and parents, Charles and Etha Pester.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday July 19, 2025, at 11:00 am at Stenshoel-Houske Funeral Home. Visitation will begin at 10:00 am. Bob will be placed in the Oakdale Ossuarium following the service.
