Ruby Lynn Soft – Obit

On November 13, 2022, Ruby Lynn Soft of Crookston, MN passed away into God’s grace after a difficult battle with chronic illness.

Ruby was born in Fort Yates, North Dakota, grew up in Mobridge, South Dakota, and spent her final years in Minnesota with her dearest friends. A warrior throughout her many trials and tribulations, she was only 57 at the time of her passing. As a Standing Rock Sioux Tribe member, her spirit now rests with her many ancestors who preceded her in death. Ruby’s many loved ones describe her as kind, loyal, and always willing to lend a helping hand to anyone down on their luck. She was a wonderful person to have in your corner. Ruby was a great cook and loved crafting. She was a very talented beadwork artist, specializing in both traditional and modern beading techniques to create beautiful works of art.

Ruby is survived by her loving boyfriend, Darrell Hart; children: Shannon Lafferty, Amanda (Tommy) Kounlabout, Krysta Bormann, and Shadow Parmely; her brother, Marvin Lafferty, and his children: Nathan Lafferty, Brandon Lafferty, Derrick Lafferty, and Christine Del Toro Lopez; her close friend and neighbor, George Price; many grandchildren; and so many more.

A memorial service celebrating Ruby’s is being planned and that information will be released when it becomes available. May God richly bless the memory of Ruby Lynn Soft.

Messages of condolence may be offered to Ruby’s family on her obituary page at www.stenshoelhouske.com
