Ruth Carol (Fevig) Dauner – Obit

Ruth Carol (Fevig) Dauner, 88, Ada, MN, passed away on Thursday, January 19, 2023, at the Halstad Living Center in Halstad, MN.

Ruth Carol (Fevig) Dauner was born on November 19, 1934, to parents Orris and Agnes Fevig in Ulen, MN. She spent her childhood growing up in Ulen where she attended school and graduated in 1953.

She was united in marriage to Burnnelle Skansgaard on September 11, 1954. She and Berni lived in Wadena, MN, then later moved to Babbit, MN. Together they had 4 children, Mark (Lynn), Mike (Dana), Joni, and Jon (Teresa). After her separation from Berni, she and her kids moved back to Ulen where she raised them and worked at Bethlehem Church and the Ulen Locker plant. On March 23, 1968, she was united in marriage to Eugene Dauner and together they had one child, Amy (Scott). Together they farmed near Twin Valley, MN until their retirement, when they moved to Ada. After Eugene’s passing, Carol moved to Valley View Manor, then she resided at the Halstad Living Center until her death.

Her favorite hobbies were bird watching at the farm and crocheting. She made several afghans for her children and grandchildren. She was quick-witted and had a great sense of humor, she will be dearly missed.

Carol is survived by her children, Mark (Lynn) Skansgaard, Mike (Dana) Skansgaard, Joni Skansgaard, Jon (Teresa) Skansgaard and Amy (Scott) Bradsteen; brother, Arvid Fevig; sister-in-law, Emelyn Fevig; brother-in-law, Duane Dauner; 9 grandchildren; and several great grandchildren.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Orris and Agnes, brothers, Loren Fevig and David Fevig; in-laws, Esther and Robert Dauner; sisters-in-law, Kristi Fevig, Dolores Fevig, Dorothy Dauner Olson and Verona Dauner; brothers-in-law, Donald (Bud) Dauner and Gerald Olson; and grandchild, Jonnathan Floberg.

A private funeral service will be held at Fredrikson-Ganje Funeral Home, Ada, MN.

Interment: Ada Municipal Cemetery, Ada, MN.
