SANDHILL RIVER GOLF COURSE WILL OPEN SATURDAY MORNING

The moderate winter and early spring weather have made it possible for Sandhill River Golf Course in Fertile to get an early start on the golf season. Superintendent Jeff Gullickson said they’ll open up this weekend. “We’re just planning to open tomorrow (Saturday) at 8 a.m.,” said Gullickson. “We don’t know what the weather is going to bring this time of year, but we’re going to try it and see what happens.”

The course will be fully open on Saturday, but could still close at times this spring depending on the weather. “Everything will be open,” said Gullickson. “The course is basically just like we left it last fall. It’s really a strange spring. We have seen water or wet areas. It should play pretty well. Call for a tee time and as we go forward, looking at the forecast I could see us being closed. I don’t know that we’ll be open every day but we’ll be quick to pull the plug if the weather isn’t appropriate.”

Give Sandhill River Golf Course a call for tee times. “Just give us a call at 218-945-3535 and we can set up a tee time,” said Gullickson.
