Sandra Horn – Obit

Sandra Horn, age 67, of rural Gary, MN, died on Monday, March 1, 2021, at her home.

Sandra Jane Anderson was born in Crookston, MN, on July 13, 1953, the daughter of Harvey Sr. and Jane (Nelson) Anderson. She grew up in Crookston and attended elementary school there until her family moved to Twin Valley, MN. She attended Twin Valley High School. On March 21, 1970, Sandi and Harvey Horn were united in marriage in Twin Valley. They made their home in several communities in southern Minnesota before moving to Ada, MN, in 1979. From 1980 until 1988, Sandi managed the Norman County Ambulance while raising her family. In 1997, they moved to a farm east of Twin Valley where they have been since. Sandi was employed at the Lutheran Memorial Nursing Home for a few years before she went to work at the Shooting Star Casino where she was the Deli Cook for 15 years. After her retirement, she stayed at home enjoying her flowers, her dogs, and shopping on Market Place (which created many trips by family members to pick up her treasures). Collecting angels and the love of her grandchildren is what Sandi will be remembered for the most. She will be missed by all who knew her.

Sandi is survived by her husband, Harvey of Twin Valley, MN; daughter, Krystal Horn of Moorhead, MN; son, Matthew (Heidi) Horn of Perley, MN; daughter-in-law, Jennifer Horn of Nevis, MN; three sisters: Tammy (Jerry) Webber of Marion, OH, Katie (Joe) Barrera and Karla Wilson, both of Elbow Lake, MN; two brothers, Tim (Ethel) Anderson of Great Falls, MT, and Mike (Jeanne) of Las Vegas, NV; six grandchildren: Daniel, Stefen (Julia), Cole (Bailey), Sadie, Tori and Emily; and one great-grandchild soon to arrive, Ella.

She was preceded in death by her sons; Daniel and an infant son, Robert; her parents, Harvey Sr. and Jane Anderson; one brother, Harvey Jr.; and one sister, Rebeca.
