Following a year in college Scott proudly served in the US Navy from 1970 to 1978. During part of his service as an Avionics Technician, he was stationed on the USS Oriskany off the shores of Vietnam. His service shaped his lifelong dedication to hard work, precision, and helping others.

He helped many times with family computer problems and did his best to fix all their issues.
Scott enjoyed bowling and golf being on leagues throughout his lifetime. He was an avid Vikings fan even during the worst times and never gave up on them.
On August 2, 1986 Scott married Shirley Cota. With this marriage he gained 3 beautiful daughters. His life became much busier with 3 girls in the house. He embraced his new life with all the love he had to share. His role as father, grandfather and great grandfather was one he cherished. He was known by his grandkids to give the best “Bear Hugs”. They loved his bear hugs as much as he loved giving them.
Scott enjoyed attending all school and sporting events for both his daughters and grandkids. His enthusiasm and smile were a part of every event.
