Sheriff’s Office Responds to ATV Accident

On Monday, August 20 at 3:02 p.m., the Polk County Sheriff’s Office was dispatched to a report of an ATV accident in Knute Township (between Mentor and Erskine). When Deputies arrived on scene, they found two juvenile occupants in a Polaris RZR. The passenger complained of leg pain and was later transported to Riverview Hospital in Crookston with what is believed to be non-life threatening injuries. The driver was uninjured.
Deputies later learned that the ATV had rolled over and both occupants were wearing their seatbelts at the time of the crash. The owner of the ATV is 70 year old James Noyes of rural Erskine.
Assisting agencies were Essentia Ambulance and Erskine Fire Department.
No further information will be released at this time.
