SHIRLEY ELAINE VISSER – Obit

Shirley Elaine Visser, 82, Ada, MN, passed away on Thursday, July 15, 2021 unexpectedly in her home.

Shirley (Dyrendahl) was born on January 27, 1939 to Emil and Inga Dyrendahl in Hendrum, MN. She graduated from Hendrum High School in 1957 and began working as a Bookkeeper for a hotel in Fargo, ND.

On September 23, 1962 Shirley was united in marriage to Donald Visser at the Immanuel Lutheran Church, Hendrum, MN. The couple made their home in Ada, MN.

After Shirley’s husband passed away she began working in laundry for the Benedictine Care Community and Essentia Health in Ada MN. There, she enjoyed her work, her co-workers, and the residents. Shirley retired at the age of 80.

Shirley was an active member of the Grace Lutheran Church in Ada, and was also a member of the Ada VFW Ladies Auxiliary.

Shirley loved her community and enjoyed attending events with friends and family to visit and catch up.

Shirley’s kindness extended to all her family and friends. She gave the biggest, warmest, most sincere hugs that will be missed by many. Shirley was a one-of-a-kind lady who enjoyed hearing about and watching her extended family grow. If a newcomer joined, they were always welcomed by her.
