Small Business Saturday is coming up this week on November 30. The Crookston Area Chamber and Visitor’s Bureau is using the theme Channel Your Flannel to promote eating, shopping, and playing local explains Chamber Executive Director Terri Heggie. “Small Business Saturday is always the Saturday right after Thanksgiving,” said Heggie. “In our area that typically kicks off the holiday season. This year to put a little bit more community engagement to Small Business Saturday we put a little twist on it called Crookston Channel Your Flannel. We have encouraged our business owners to decorate their storefronts or the inside of their businesses with flannel. As you go around town you can see people are trying to do that and the Chamber window is all decked out in flannel. We want our community to just have fun with Crookston Channel Your Flannel.”
Customers who go out shopping on Small Business Saturday can be entered for a chance for $30 worth of Chamber Bucks for use at Chamber businesses, said Heggie. “If you are out shopping and wearing flannel I ask you to snap a picture of you at a store and put it on our Facebook page at #crookstonchannelyourflannel,” said Heggie. “And then your name will go in for $30 worth of chamber bucks to add to the shopping fun. We are encouraging everybody this holiday season to please shop local, eat local, play local, keep your dollars local this holiday season.”
