The Section 8A Individual Girls Tennis tournament started Friday morning at Choice Fitness in Grand Forks, and six Pirates are competing for a trip to the state tournament.
Competing for Crookston in singles are Lauren Tull and Katie Seaver, and the doubles teams of Kaylin Bedard and Emma Capistran, along with Nora Groven and Briget Groven.
SINGLES –
Lauren Tull beat Lori Spradlin of East Grand Forks 6-0, 6-0, and will take on Hattie Truax (Parkers Prairie) in the quarterfinals this afternoon.
Katie Seaver lost to Haley Larson (Park Rapids) 6-0, 6-0 and was eliminated.
DOUBLES –
Kaylin Bedard and Emma Capistran vs Madison Sperius-Kaylee Sperius of Staples-Motley
Nora Groven and Brigit Groven vs Natalie Hanson-Sarah Kroll of Staples-Motley
