The Crookston Public Schools held their annual Crookston District Spelling Bee on Wednesday afternoon inside the Crookston High School Auditorium. There were 16 competitors in this year’s spelling bee, ranging from fifth to eighth grade. Fifth and sixth-grade students from Highland Elementary recently competed in the regional Math Masters of Minnesota Virtual Challenge. Sixth-grade students Leah Johanneck, Xavier Mason, Alex Zammert, Abigail Olson, and Madilyn Bruggeman represented Crookston. These students competed individually and as a team on eight sets of mathematical problems in this competition for a total of 325
