STENSHOEL HOUSKE FUNERAL & CREMATION SERVICES HOSTING OPEN HOUSE THURSDAY OCT. 28

The Stenshoel Houske Funeral Home is inviting the public to a “Community Resources Open House” on Thursday, October 28, from 1:00 to 4:00 p.m. It will be an opportunity for community members to stop in and pre-plan funeral needs or ask questions.

Office Manager at Stenshoel Houske Funeral Home Christine Meine says it’s an opportunity for those to visit and come up with a plan to avoid covering costs later. “This Open House will be a good time for those with pre-need or pre-planning needs,” said Meine. “It could be for your children or other family members. But this way, you don’t have to come up with the money right then and there on the spot, and you can come up with a plan.”

Several community groups will be participating in the Open House. “We have a social worker coming from the Villa; the Veterans Administration is going to be there,” said Meine. “Red River Valley and Ethos Hospice groups will both be there. Tri-Valley Caring Companion, Benedictine Living Center, Golden Link Senior Center, and Fitzgerald Reynolds Harbott Knutson & Larson will also be there. So, there will be so much information and groups available to answer any questions that anyone would have.”

Pre-Arrangement Specialist Bonnie Christians says it is also a good opportunity for people to mingle and not visit the Funeral Home under tragic circumstances. “It will just be an Open House where there will be tables of information, and you can come in and mingle around,” said Christians. “You’ll get packets, and there is no pressure or anything like that. We want to provide information and work with the other services so that you’re allowed to get the information that you need.”

Christians also said that you could learn more about volunteer opportunities during the Open House, and any questions regarding lawyers or nursing homes or anything at all will be answered.

The Open House will take place at the Stenshoel Houske Funeral Home in Crookston, located at 615 South Minnesota Street. More information can be found on their website by visiting www.stenshoelhouske.com/ or by calling Christine Meine at 218-281-3372. They also have updates on  their Facebook page Stenshoel Houske Funeral & Cremation Service.
