STEPHEN-ARGYLE VOLLEYBALL FALLS TO KITTSON COUNTY CENTRAL IN THREE SETS

The Stephen-Argyle Storm Volleyball team fell to the #1 seeded Kittson County Central Bearcats by a score of 3-0 in the Section 8A quarterfinals.

FIRST SET
Kittson County Central won the first two points before a kill from Emily Marquis got the Storm on the board. Stephen-Argyle tied it up at 3-3 off of another Marquis kill. It was tied at four, five, six, and seven before the Bearcats won two points off of consecutive Kaydence White kills to make it 9-7. The Storm got a point before Kittson County Central went on a 6-0 run to make it 15-8, forcing Stephen-Argyle to use a timeout.
The Storm ended the run with a block from Marquis to make it 15-9. White got a kill and an ace for Kittson County Central to make it 17-9. The following few points were back and forth until Kittson County Central’s Morgan Turn got a kill to make it 22-14. Lauryn Whitlock got two straight aces to close out the set for the Bearcats. Kittson County Central won the first set 25-14 and took a 1-0 match lead.

SECOND SET
The second set was tied at one before Kittson County Central went on a 5-0 run, with White getting two kills. Stephen-Argyle won a point before another White kill started a 3-0 run for the Bearcats, making it 9-2. A couple of points later, Signe Svendson got a kill to start a 4-0 run, making it 10-7. Kittson County Central immediately responded with a 7-0 run, featuring two Afton Lindren aces, and Stephen-Argyle was forced to call a timeout.
The following few points were back and forth, and at 19-10, the Bearcats went on a 6-0 run, which featured two White kills and a Hanna Warnke ace. That run closed out the set, and Kittson County Central won 25-10 and took a 2-0 match lead.

THIRD SET
Kittson County Central won the first two points before Stephen-Argyle won the next two, tying it up at 2-2. It was tied at three, four, and five before the Bearcats went on a 7-0 run, featuring two Morgan Turn kills, to make it 12-5. The Storm won two straight points, and the Bearcats won two consecutive points. Stephen-Argyle’s Svendson got a kill to make it 14-9 before Kittson County Central went on a 3-0 run.
The following several points were back and forth before Ayla Woinarowicz got a kill to make it 20-13. Three points later, Svendson got a kill to make it 21-15. Kittson County Central went on a 5-0 run to close out the set 25-15 and win the match 3-0.

Stephen-Argyle finishes the season with a record of 17-9. Kittson County Central improves to 21-9 and advances to the Section 8A semi-finals.
