Sylvia A. Janssen, 70, Ada, MN, died unexpectedly on Sunday, November 21, 2021 at Essentia Health in Fargo, ND. 
Sylvia was born July 1, 1951 in Crescent, Iowa to William and Elvia. On March 23, 1972 Sylvia married Dennis in Briscoe, Texas and together they had four children, Connie, Betty, Dick and Danny. She spent her younger days as a homemaker, helping her best friend raise her kids. She also enjoyed traveling, and made it to 48 of the 50 states. On November 4, 1996, she married Dennis a second time in Union, South Dakota.
They settled in Somers, Iowa where they raised their family and two granddaughters together until the death of Dennis in 2004. Sylvia continued raising Toni and Ruthy when they lived in Pelican Rapids, MN and they became members of Central Lutheran Church, which Sylvia loved dearly. Then moving to Midland, Missouri, Sylvia lived with her best friend and family. In 2011 she settled in Ada where she continued to love and support her family until her death.
Sylvia lived life to the fullest and did not let her age put a limit on what she could do, and she loved trying new things. She always had phone or camera ready to take pictures. She loved spending time with family and friends, making crafts, road trips and taking walks. She was an incredible mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend.
Sylvia is preceded in death by her husband, Dennis; and parents, William Boling and Elvia Rose.
She is survived by her brothers and sisters, Harry, Theresa, Chrissy, Mary Jane, Janet, Jim and Beverly; four children, Connie, Betty (Herb), Dick, and Danny (Sandra); eleven grandchildren, Kimberly, Nikki, Charlie Anne, Christopher, Gabby, Josh, Jenna, Toni (Alec), Ruthy, Dallas and Autumn; one great-grandchild, Alexis; many nieces and nephews; and many other special people she has known over the years.
Memorial Service: 2:00 PM, Friday, December 3, 2021 at Fredrikson-Ganje Funeral Home, Ada, MN. Due to COVID 19 concerns please wear a mask when attending the visitation and funeral.
Visitation: One hour before the memorial service at the funeral home.
Inurnment: 11:00 AM, Saturday, December 4, 2021 at Central Swede Grove Lutheran Church Cemetery, Pelican Rapids, MN.
