Sylvia Ann Dale, 87, Fertile, MN, passed away on the morning of Saturday, August 7, 2021, at Fair Meadow Nursing Home in Fertile after a brief battle with cancer.
Sylvia was born on August 2, 1934, to Severin and Emma Sollie. Sylvia led a full, adventurous life. Piano lessons, bowling, secretary school, and shorthand filled her teenage years. She was married to Donald G. Dale on November 12, 1955. Sylvia worked for 22 years in the Fertile-Beltrami High School kitchen, while many years also working a second job at the Rec Café.
Sylvia loved gardening and taking drives with her husband out looking for deer. She was fortunate enough to take a trip to Alaska in 2016 and to Jamaica in 2018, where she swam with the dolphins!
Sylvia is preceded in death by her parents, Severin and Emma; brother, Lester; sister, Judith; and sons, Jeffrey and Larry. Sylvia is survived by her brother, Richard; husband, Donald; children, James, Jason, and Lori; and several grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Memorial Service: A casual memorial service will take place at 3:00 PM, Friday, September 3, 2021, at Erikson-Vik-Ganje Funeral Home, Fertile, MN.
Visitation: One hour before the service at the funeral home.
Interment: Burial will take place at a later date as Sylvia has donated her entire body to the UND Medical School.
